"Sadly, I have seen some folk who arrive in the lakes and don't quite have that understanding. Dogs leaping right from the cars as the drivers pull up to admire the scenery and the animal bolts off onto the fells scattering sheep as they go. It is natural for the animal to behave that way, so we have to remind ourselves of our responsibilities."

"The people I know will always be respectful but if you see someone who doesn't understand the code, I am sure that you will take the appropriate course of action. A gentle word can go a long way. It can also get you an ear bashing from those that are sadly ignorant but I am sure that most will take heed and comply."
